One of the components is a learning experience with a formal structure complemented by learning outcomes, credits and assessments. This includes courses, modules, seminars, lab work, practical work, preparation/research for a term assignment or thesis, mobility windows or electives. In this case, you must complete two apprenticeship contracts: the apprenticeship contract of the partner university and the e-learning contract. Participants must ensure that they have sufficient insurance during their stay abroad, as the Erasmus+ scholarship and the mobility grant do not include insurance. If you have not earned ECTS at all during your Erasmus study stay, you must repay the full amount of the scholarship (0 ECTS equals 0 euros). The mobility must take place at a foreign higher education institution with an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, ECHE. The country participating in the programme cannot be the applicant`s main residence. Teaching stays must be initiated and organized independently with the host university abroad. Ideally, Erasmus+ mobility is based on reciprocity. So encourage your partners to take turns attending the RWTH. The Erasmus+ programme also offers funding for staff mobility in European host universities to complement the funding for student mobility. If the programme contains a mobility window, simply enter «Mobility window» as the component title in Table B and indicate the corresponding number of ECTS. This makes it clear that the courses you take abroad don`t necessarily have to exactly match the courses that are replaced at RWTH.
Tables are not used to recognize identical modules, courses, etc., but to recognize comparable learning outcomes. Therefore, for example, the number of ECTS granted abroad (and indicating only the average workload) may differ upwards or downwards from those granted to RWTH. The International Bureau awards the Erasmus+ scholarship. Students receive a scholarship agreement each year in July if their Erasmus+ stay abroad begins in the winter semester of the academic year. For students who start their Erasmus+ stay in the summer semester, the Erasmus+ scholarship is awarded each year in November. The e-learning contract is concluded on the e-learning agreement platform. Please read the step-by-step instructions carefully in order to execute them correctly. Agreements concluded in Erasmus contracts with partner universities and in the learning contract on certain language levels should therefore not be proven or confused with online tests. These language skills are provided by faculties or groups of specialists in the selection of participants by means of other evidence. The rules on certain language levels in Erasmus contracts with the partner university and in the learning contract should not be confused with the online test and cannot be fulfilled by the online test. Faculties and departments ensure these language skills by using different documentation when selecting participants.
The language test serves as a placement test to document the current language skills of Erasmus+ funded students. Students take the test before and after their stay in order to be able to compare the results and analyze the linguistic progress of the students supported. Information event Opportunities for a stay abroad during your studies The following minimum amounts for three groups of countries apply throughout Europe from the 2018/2019 academic year. The cost of living is highest in Group 1 countries. Students who complete an Erasmus stay in one of the Group 1 countries thus benefit from a larger Erasmus grant than students who carry out an Erasmus stay in a Group 2 or 3 country. The same logic applies to group 2. Mandatory language tests after selection for an Erasmus+ study internship Preparing the e-learning contract and getting the necessary signatures takes a lot of time! Please start with the preliminary interviews and take care of the e-learning contract at least three months before your Erasmus stay. Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Turkey, United Kingdom (Please note that assistance for stays in the United Kingdom is only available until 31 March 2023.) The systematic Europe-wide review of the development of individual language skills makes it possible to assess the effectiveness of Erasmus+. If the course catalog of the host university where you will spend the second semester is not yet available, simply enter the courses of the first semester in the e-learning contract.
As soon as you know which courses you will be taking in the second semester, please enter them into your existing OLA via the «Apply Changes» function (see OLA changes in the step-by-step instructions). Approval of the Erasmus+ scholarship by the International Office Information Event Recognition of academic achievements abroad and ERASMUS/SEMP regulations Erasmus+ promotes equal opportunities and inclusion. RWTH Erasmus Outgoing students must earn at least 15 ECTS per semester abroad (approximately 5 months) (see Table A) at the partner university. The minimum of 15 ECTS also includes ECTS credits obtained through language courses (exception: language courses in your mother tongue) or courses that are not related to your study programme. The European Commission offers an online language test for 24 European languages.
All students must take the test in their working language after being selected/before their stay as well as after completing the stay. However, this is not a selection criterion for erasmus+ funding and does not apply to native speakers. Forms and additional information required for financial support will be sent once the application is approved. Write to them why you could not reach the minimum required number of ECTS and ask for an exemption. Include evidence of your case, such as a medical certificate. Exceptions will only be granted in justified exceptional cases.
